Vanishing Cochran is a collection of historical and recent photographs. The purpose of the book is to show how much, or how little the town of Cochran, GA has changed over the past century. The book contains 200+ images collected over the course of a year and a half. This project would not have been possible without the help of countless individuals who either brought in their old photographs, or called, emailed, and researched trying to help me uncover more photographs.

My dad's family lived in Cochran and we visited them during my growing up years. I was so excited when I accidentally found this book and even more so when I got it. I've sent it to my Aunt so she can write comments about the pictures of places important to my family, particularly schools and churches they attended. She shared it with friends who also enjoyed a trip down memory lane. I'm eagerly awaiting the next volume!Product details

This book offers many old pictures of Cochran and Bleckley County. The author has old and new scenes of the same places that makes interesting comparisons. It was a trip down memory lane for me as I grew up in Cochran from 1953 to 1970. I am glad I purchased the book.
Cover damaged
This book brings to life the past history of Cochran, Ga. in great detail. Once you look at it, you will be browsing over & over. It is a great gift to give to people that live in Cochran or lived in Cochran and later moved.
I would recommend this book to anyone.

Very reminiscent of my childhood. There was a lot that was missed, although not intentional, I'm sure ! Seems that most of the 'older folk' are gone now, and their kids probably trashed any pictures.
