A seductive story about corruption, sin, lust, and redemption

The series opens as Ives Andrich, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Division of the FBI, is confronted with investigating the woman he has waited a lifetime to find. Because of her more than accurate novel about an Italian crime lord, the Bureau, against Ives’ wishes, asks for her help in infiltrating the internal organization of the nation’s most nefarious Mafia don.

When the Bureau’s plan fails, and she becomes dangerously entangled in the private life of the United States’ most wanted criminal, Ives’ tolerance for Bureau mishaps vanishes. No holds barred, he puts everything on the line to save the woman he loves in the Complete Volumes One, Two, and Three of The Killing Game, the first book in The Killing Game Series, a romantic suspense thriller series by The Black Rose.

The Killing Game: Cat and Mouse Chase At It’s Best
Boy meets girl. Boy and girl fall in love. Boy keeps secret that he is part of the FBI and the chase is on. The Killing Game by The Black Rose is the first in a series. It takes what could be a predictable plot line and leads the reader on a wild and unexpected ride through a maze of twists and turns that keep the reader guessing as to who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. The story does not let up until the final sentence.
Ives Aldrich, FBI Special Agent New York is investigating an organized crime ring and the woman of his dreams all at the same time. Alina is a writer who pens a very convincing book about the Mob and finds herself caught between the man she loves, criminal masterminds and secret agents.
Just when the reader thinks that the bad guys have been foiled and the power couple can finally be happy, the couple is confronted with another obstacle and the game is on again. The characters on both sides of good and evil are well developed and believable. The characters and plot construction show depth and dimension that make for compelling romantic suspense.
This novel is sexy and edge of your seat suspenseful that harkens back to the days of Sydney Sheldon but adds a modern twist. I enjoyed the novel immensely . While it is obviously the first in a series the reader is left with a cliffhanger. However, many of the threads developed throughout the novel are brought to a satisfying conclusion at the end.
If you enjoy fast-paced suspense coupled with a sexy romance, The Killing Game should not be missed.

The Killing Game Volumes One Two Three of the First Book of The Killing Game Series edition by The Black Rose Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

The Killing Game is the first book in a crime / detective series, and it starts off the series with a bang. Ives Andrich, Special Agent of the New York Division of the FBI, is forced to investigate the woman who he has fallen in love with, Allina. More so, the Bureau asks her to infiltrate in the internal organization of a crime lord / mob boss, and when she does and becomes dangerously entangled in the web closing around her, Ives puts everything on the line to save the love of his life.

The book was quite long, at about 500 pages, so I had to read it in a few sittings, but nevertheless, it never felt like a long book. The pacing was fast, the writing excellent, the characters engaging, and I was drawn into the story from the start. The author did a stellar job turning Allina and Ives into well-rounded, three-dimensional characters with actual personalities. While each character, even the secondary ones, is crucial, has an unique personality and brings something of their own to the table, Allina and Ives are the two most intriguing characters.

There were so many twists I couldn’t even begin to describe them if I wanted to – which I don’t, because I don’t want to spoil things for you. But let’s say, this book has a lot of surprises! I’m looking forward to reading the second book. I received a free copy in exchange to an honest review.
The Killing Game is the first book in The Killing Game series by The Black Rose.

Allina Kovar's life is about to change, and possibly not in the fashion that she is expecting. Her new novel about organized crime has raised some brows, insinuating that she may be in the middle of the mafia. The FBI has been keeping tabs on her, only she doesn't know it - yet.

In order to meet Allina, FBI Special Agent in Charge Ives Andrich, takes on the role of a publisher to publish her extremely accurate novel about organized crime, The Blood Negotiators. Upon assessment of Allina, Ives knows that she doesn't know anything about mafia don, Vincent Luca. The FBI, however, feels differently and Ives' back is up against a wall. Dragging an innocent woman into the middle of a dangerous situation isn't how the plan was supposed to go, but unfortunately Allina lands right in the lap of Luca, the most wanted criminal in the U.S.

The Killing Game is a well developed and compelling novel that transcends the world of the FBI and the mob. The setting for the book is New York and the author aptly describes the scenes. This allows the reader to fully visualize everything that goes on in the book, from the first scene in the limo all the way until the last scene that ends book one. The characters are complex and the reader will be able to emotionally connect with some, if not all, of them at various points within the novel. The author was able to write the book with true emotion that the reader will experience. There is a scene near the end concerning pets that, while fitting for that point in the book, broke my heart. The writing was done so well that The Killing Game will engage the reader from the very beginning. Plus, the sheer number of twists and turns throughout the novel will have you on the edge of your seat in anticipation.

Allina turns out to be quite a strong woman. Her character simply began as a romance author attempting to step outside the box and write a mystery/intrigue novel about the Mafia and gambling. Instead, she becomes embroiled in the real life goings-on of an FBI investigation into the life of nefarious mobster, Vincent Luca. Luca, who is crazy by the way, plays his part as dangerous mafia don quite well. I was totally convinced in his bad-guy persona from the very first meeting. Ives Andrich tries to play hardball in The Killing Game but when it comes right down to it, he was putty in Allina hands. Now that she's involved in FBI/Mafia battle, Ives will do anything to keep her safe, and hopes that it will be enough. Special Agent Alan Walzinski, Assistant Director of the New York Division of the FBI is a great character. I enjoyed the banter between him and Ives.

Get ready for a realistic look in to the life of the FBI and organized crime. The book is long so be prepared to hunker down and get comfortable. When you read the last word, you'll be glad you took the time to read The Killing Game.

I voluntarily reviewed a NetGalley copy of the book.
The Killing Game kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book. I could not anticipate the action. Every page brought new twists. Can't wait for the sequel.
